Pickleball Court -
Supervisor Collins advised the board that the proposed zoning laws that have been the subject of several recent Town Board meetings (allowing Single Lot Exceptions (SLE) and Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) in the town) were submitted to the County Planning Department.
In turn, that department requested completion of a State Environmental Quality Review Act clearance on the two proposed local laws. The board voted to declare themselves as lead agency to conduct these reviews, and proceeded to declare that neither proposed law had a significant environmental impact that would contraindicate passage of said laws.
The board scheduled Public Hearings on both the SLE and the ADU laws for Thursday, March 20th, at the beginning of the regularly scheduled March Town Board meeting. The public hearing for the SLE law is scheduled to begin at 6:35 pm followed immediately by a public hearing on the ADU law at 6:45 pm. Those meetings are a final step before the board votes on final passage of the two laws.
The board voted to select five initial members to the recently established Financial Planning and Economic Development Committee, including one Board member and volunteer residents of the town. Those appointed to the committee were John Breault, Chair; Gabriella Sperry, Co-Chair; Gary Martin, Lisa Simonetti; and Town Board member Rick Werwaiss. The resolution noted that the committee is currently advertising for additional members. Breault and Sperry said they are already gearing up to survey local businesses in order to gather foundational data for the committee’s future work.
The board accepted the resignation of Beth Anne Rippel and Melissa Pollack from the Communications Citizen Advisory Committee.
The board also accepted the resignation of Kim Wood, who has served as a member of the Planning Board, and approved Planning Board Alternate Adrienne Dowd to complete Wood’s term which runs until 2030. In good planning fashion, the board authorized advertising for the Planning Board Alternate vacancy.
The board authorized expenditure of $14,795.00 as requested by Highway Superintendent Fetzer to purchase an 8 ton Deckover Power Spilt Tilt 20’ Trailer. They authorized the expense from the Capital Reserve Fund for Highway.
