April 3 Town Board workshop (con’t)
In formal business, the Town Board voted unanimously to:
To appoint four residents of the Town of Chatham to the newly established Zoning Code Review Subcommittee at the request of Co-Chair and Town Board member John Wapner. The new members are: Ben Nagy, Gail Day, Jenna Dodge, and Mary Coulson. The Co-Chair is Town Board member Rick Werwaiss.
To approve an expense not to exceed $1,750.00 to hold the 2026 Community Picnic on July 18, 2026 (rain date of July 19, 2026) at Crellin Park. The Community Picnic is a collaboration of the Town of Chatham and the Chatham Area Business Alliance and is scheduled on the same day as Chatham Summerfest. Additional details will be forthcoming in coming months.
To accept the financial Abstract as presented to pay Town Bills.

2026 CRELLIN PARK CAMP REGISTRATION – In-person at Town Hall will be available on separate nights for residents and non-residents of the Town:
Monday, May 4 from 5:30 - 7 pm for Town Residents
Tuesday, May 5 from 5:30 - 7 pm for non-residents
(Copy of children' s immunization records required at in-person camp registration).
Various Earth Day events around the County include Chatham’s town-wide clean up week from April 20 - 26, 2026. Volunteers can pick up garbage bags for roadside clean-up at Town Hall.
Town of Chatham Earth Day tree planting ceremony at Crellin Park – April 22, details to follow.
April 18 – Austerlitz Earth Day Festival, 11 am to 3 pm, co-sponsored by Canaan, Chatham, Ghent, and Philmont Climate Smart Committees.
April 19 – Columbia County Climate Smart Taskforce & Columbia Land Conservancy Film Festival, 1 - 3 pm. This page also lists other 2026 events related to Earth Day around the County
