Lots of discussion on housing and zoning initiatives

The majority of the December 5, 2024 Town Board meeting was taken up with a presentation on the current status and details of two proposed local laws put forward by the joint Zoning Update Committee (ZUC) and the Housing Committee, followed by board discussion and public comment. Both laws have been developed by these joint committees in response to a shortage of housing options for people of different age and income levels in the Town of Chatham, a shortage that is increasingly documented throughout most of the US.

Art Omi Pavilions at Chatham

What’s happening in this picture?

A quiet and dramatic change is happening here, one that is sure to put the Town of Chatham on the arts and culture map of NYS.

In the works for several years, a groundbreaking took place in early October onsite at the Art Omi Pavilions at Chatham, located on Route 66 between the Village of Chatham and Chatham Center.
