Town of Chatham activity begins new year on January 1, 2026

Hallenbeck says goodbye to Chatham

Destiny Hallenbeck, outgoing Town Board Member, spoke to the Town Board and audience after Supervisor Collins presented her with a certificate of appreciation for her four years of service as a Town Board Member, including her work with the Housing and Zoning Update Committees and the Comprehensive Plan Update Committee. Hallenbeck spoke about her arrival as a young child and long residence in Chatham, her accomplishments and plans, and her gratitude to the community for the support and sense of belonging she found here.

Hallenbeck did not run for a second term; she will be moving to Dutchess County, closer to her current job as Director of Operations for NYS Congressman Pat Ryan, who represents the 18th Congressional District of NYS in Washington DC. Hallenbeck ended her comments by saying that she believes that “...local government is where service still feels human, where people are seen and helped, and where decisions are made by those who live in the same community and feel the impact every day.” To listen to Hallenbeck’s comments go to segment 3:00 - 10:00 on the meeting video.

Commemoration of January 6, 2021

Save the date for a candlelight vigil at the Chatham Gazebo on January 6 at 4 PM to mark one of the darkest days in our history. It’s a time to be with like-minded individuals who honor our democracy.
