The Town Board addressed and approved a number of initiatives that have been in the works in recent months. Most significantly, the board approved a six-month extension of the solar moratorium to allow for completion of a Solar Law and agreed to submit two draft laws devised to improve housing availability in the town to the County Planning Department.

The board also approved the creation of a the Financial Planning and Economic Development Citizens’ Advisory Committee, which is tasked with facilitating the advancement of current and future businesses in the town in order to improve the tax base, consider town revenues and spending, and seek means to assist in the overall reduction of the residential tax burden of Chatham residents.
